Young Onset of Parkinson’s Disease: What you need to know

Image
After Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease is the second most prevalent progressive neurodegenerative disease (diseases that cause a gradual loss of brain cells). It is very common in the older population. However, in recent times even younger people are also getting affected by it i.e early-onset Parkinson's disease which affects people under the age of 50. Here we’ve discussed the young onset of Parkinson's disease in brief. Our experts from the neurosurgery hospital in Jaipur have helped us with the same.   What are the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease? Tremors, rigidity (limb stiffness), bradykinesia (slowness), and postural instability are all symptoms of Parkinsonism (impaired balance and coordination). It will gradually affect their facial expressions, resulting in a mask-like face. Patients will have difficulty smiling, swallowing, and speaking. The disease also has an impact on their handwriting, resulting in micrographia (handwriting becoming small).
